Om Risskov

The district of Risskov is sometimes referred to as Vejlby-Risskov, as it's a merge of the old Risskov neighbourhood and the neighbourhood of Vejlby. The old neighbourhood of Risskov at the seaside of Aarhus Bay is one of the most prosperous areas in Denmark and offers several beach options for sunny days. The name of the area, however, derives from the small nearby forest called Riis Skov, of which parts were given to the city of Aarhus by Margaret I of Denmark as the first public forest in Denmark. Today the forest is a well-known destination for families and couples to spend a day out in nature.
